- Duration: One year (Contractual – Extendable based on project requirement and performance)
- Working Days: Includes weekends and travel days as per event schedule
IUCAA Vacancy 2025 Salary
- Salary: ₹30,000 per month (Consolidated)
- There are no additional allowances or HRA provided. The salary is fixed for the contractual duration.
Eligibility Criteria : IUCAA Pune Zilla Parishad Project 2025
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 35 years as of the last date of application.
- Relaxation in age may not be applicable since the position is on a contract basis.
Educational Qualification (Essential)
- First Class B.Sc. in Physics, Astronomy, or Mathematics
- Or B.E. (in any relevant discipline)
- Desirable: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a related subject will be an added advantage.
Required Skills for Astronomy Education Assistant 2025
- A solid grasp of astronomy and basic science
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in Hindi, Marathi, and English
- Computer skills, including the use of layout/design applications (such as Canva, Photoshop, and InDesign), Microsoft Office, and content production
- A creative thinking combined with excellent interpersonal and managerial abilities

Experience
- Knowledge of popularizing science, particularly for educators and schoolchildren

Key Responsibilities for Astronomy Education Assistant 2025
This position involves a combination of content creation, event management, coordination, and outreach activities focused on astronomy education at the school level.
Primary Duties
- Develop customized student and teacher material related to astronomy
- Assist in the design, illustration, and layout of science activity compilations for school outreach (around 30 activities developed at IUCAA)
- Coordinate Marathi translations of science education materials
- Assist in assessing the pedagogical effectiveness of created content
- Create an open-source question bank of 500 science questions aligned with the SSC syllabus
- Support and organize science and astronomy events in schools, including teacher training camps and student workshops
- Travel to rural schools and coordinate science exposure camps
- Maintain event documentation – including photographs, reports, and updates on the project website
